Rental Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Prime Rentals Bonaire.

These Terms & Conditions govern the rental of vehicles from Prime Rentals Bonaire ("Prime Rentals", "we", "us"). By making a reservation you ("the renter") agree to these terms.

1. Driver requirements

  • The main driver and any additional driver must be at least 21 years old.
  • You must hold a valid driver's licence that has been held for at least 12 months.
  • You must present a valid licence, passport or ID, and the booking confirmation at pick-up.
  • Only drivers registered on the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.

2. Reservations & confirmation

A booking made through our website is a request. It becomes a confirmed reservation the moment your online prepayment of 25% of the rental total has been received. We reserve the right to decline a booking; if we do, the prepayment is refunded in full.

The remaining 75% is settled before or at pick-up. You choose at booking whether you receive a secure online payment link beforehand or pay at the desk when you collect the vehicle.

You may cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed pick-up time; the prepayment is then refunded in full. Within 48 hours of pick-up, or in the event of a no-show, the prepayment is not refundable.

3. Prices & what's included

  • Prices are in US dollars (USD) per day and may vary by season.
  • Rates include standard insurance, maintenance and local taxes.
  • For electric vehicles, charging at Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort is included.
  • A rental day is a 24-hour period. Late returns may be charged as an additional day.

4. Security deposit

  • A refundable security deposit applies. The amount depends on the vehicle and is shown with your booking before you confirm it.
  • The deposit is not part of the rental price and is not charged when you book. It is reserved on your credit card at pick-up as a temporary hold.
  • The hold is released after the vehicle is returned undamaged, on time, and with the same fuel or charge level as at pick-up.
  • Costs for damage, fines, missing fuel, cleaning or late return may be deducted from the deposit before the remainder is released.
  • Prime Rentals may waive the deposit at its discretion, for example for guests staying at Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort. A waiver is decided at the desk when you collect the vehicle and is not automatic.

5. Insurance & liability

  • Vehicles are covered by standard insurance with an excess (own risk) per claim.
  • A Full Insurance upgrade is available to reduce or remove the excess.
  • Insurance does not cover damage caused by negligence, off-road driving where not permitted, driving under the influence, or use by an unauthorised driver.
  • Tyre, underbody, roof and water damage may be excluded from standard coverage.

6. Use of the vehicle

  • The vehicle may only be driven on the island of Bonaire.
  • Washington Slagbaai National Park may only be entered with a suitable 4x4 vehicle.
  • No smoking inside the vehicle. The vehicle may not be sublet or used for hire/reward.
  • The renter is responsible for the vehicle, keys and documents during the rental period.

7. Fuel & charging

Petrol vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up. Electric vehicles can be charged at Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort, included in the price.

8. Cancellation policy

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the pick-up time. The prepayment is refunded in full.
  • Within 48 hours of pick-up, or in the event of a no-show, the prepayment is not refunded. Nothing beyond the prepayment is charged.
  • To cancel, contact us by WhatsApp or email with your booking reference.

9. Damage, accidents & theft

  • In case of an accident, damage or theft, contact us immediately.
  • For accidents or theft, a police report must be obtained.
  • The renter is liable for damage up to the insurance excess, or in full where insurance does not apply.

10. Breakdown & roadside assistance

Our team is available to assist. In case of a breakdown, call +599 787 7529 before arranging any repair yourself.

11. Traffic fines & tolls

The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, penalties and charges incurred during the rental period.

12. Delivery & collection

For petrol vehicles, delivery or collection at the airport, a hotel or a resort can be arranged and may incur a fee, shown before you confirm your booking.

Electric vehicles are collected and returned at Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort only, and are currently available to guests of the resort. Airport and hotel delivery is not available for these vehicles.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands.
