Cookie Policy

How and why Prime Rentals Bonaire uses cookies.

Last updated: 1 October 2026. This policy is available in English, Dutch, Spanish and German; all four language versions are equally binding.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies such as local storage work in the same way. They help a site function and can be used to remember choices or measure usage.

2. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary — required for the website and booking process to work, and to remember your language and cookie choice. These are always on and cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics — help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Only set with your consent.
  • Marketing — used to show relevant offers. Only set with your consent.

3. What we currently use

Our own pages use only strictly necessary storage: your language preference and your cookie choice (kept in your browser's local storage), and, while you complete a booking payment, your booking reference, a temporary payment code and your chosen payment option, kept in the session storage of that browser tab (cleared when you close the tab, and used for at most 72 hours) so that you can return from the payment page.

When you pay, you are taken to Stripe's secure payment page, where Stripe may set its own cookies under its own cookie and privacy policy. Our contact page shows a map from Google Maps. When the map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. The map is not covered by your cookie choices: it loads without asking for your consent first. If you prefer, you can find our address and contact details in section 1 of our Privacy Policy instead of visiting our contact page.

We do not load analytics or marketing cookies unless you opt in. If that changes, this policy and the cookie banner will be updated.

4. Managing your choices

You can change your preferences at any time using the Cookie settings option (also in the footer of our main pages). You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though the site may not work properly without necessary cookies.

5. Your consent record

When you make a choice, we store it on your device so we don't ask again unnecessarily. We also send a record of that choice to our own database as proof of consent: the choice itself, the time, a random identifier and your browser's user-agent string. That record contains no name, email address or booking data, and it is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
